1/3 cup butter
¼ cup sugar
¼ teaspoonful of salt
4 teaspoonfuls of baking powder
1 egg
1 cup milk
2 cups sifted flour

Cream the butter and
sugar; add the well beaten egg; mix the flour, salt and
baking powder, and stir in gradually adding the milk slowly
while stirring. Beat thoroughly. Turn into hot
greased muffin pans, and bake twenty-five minutes.
