| My first Colonoscopy |
|
I was asked by my doctor to get a colonoscopy,
I didn't know what it meant, but after he told
me I was like Yeah right how are you going to
stick a long tube up my rectum and I won't feel
a thing without me being put to sleep huh !
He assured me I won't. I went home and read
online about colonoscopies, all the information
and blogs on colonoscopies made me more nervous.
They drug you before the colonoscopy and supposedly
you don't remember a thing afterwards,
W?F ! What if its the most painful experience
ever and you say it wasn't that bad because
you just don't remember. I drank a gallon of
some bad tasting liquid the night prior, had
to start and finish drinking it in four hours.
I went to the hospital and they put me in a
room and drugged me, I made it a point to tell
the doctor I may be small but my body has a
high tolerance and maybe he should give me an
extra dose, but he didn't. After awhile he comes
back and tells me its time, At this point I
was feeling pretty good. They put me in a room
and asked me to lay down on my side facing the
nurse and monitor, After a few minutes I look
at the screen and I can see the doctor probing
what seems to look like my intestines, I felt
no pain at all, but when I asked the nurse what
part we were looking at , the doctor asks why
I'm looking at the screen, "Ummm because
I'm facing it and just curious" well they drug
me again and next thing I remember is being
in the recovery room. I didn't feel any pain
then or later. My results of the colonoscopy
was good :) |
