White Sauce- Recipe date-1921

 

1 cup of milk

1 tablespoonful of flour

2 tablespoonfuls of butter

½ teaspoonful of salt

¼ teaspoonful of white pepper

 

 

 

Heat the milk; cream the butter and flour together, and add to the hot milk.  Cook over hot water until it is thick and smooth, like cream.  Add the salt and pepper, cook one minute longer and serve
